Over the years we have seen many repairs that could have been avoided, the value of maintenance, we believe, is way under estimated.
A timing belt for instance, when done as maintenance, could be as little as 25% of the cost to repair damaged valves due to a broken timing belt. Oil changes are the thing most people understand, they are cheap when compaired to a new engine.

It will vary based upon engine characteristics, your driving habits, and the climate in which you have been operating your vehicle. For instance, mild highway driving in a warm climate will maximize the interval between required oil changes. Depending on the vehicle, this could be as high as 8,000 miles. On the other hand, short-trip driving in a cold climate may limit the interval between oil changes to 2,000 miles or less. In general, most people who combine city and highway driving need an oil change every 3,000 miles. Most people maintain consistent driving habits. This means their mileage between required oil changes will be consistent.

- Warming up your vehicle in the driveway wastes gas. Drive slowly for the first few blocks instead to bring your engine to optimal driving temperature.
- Smooth, gradual acceleration helps increase mileage; rapid starts waste gas. Try to maintain a steady rate of speed and take advantage of timed traffic lights.
- Observe the speed limit. Gas mileage decreases rapidly at speeds above 60 mph. Each 5 mph you drive over 60 mph is like paying an additional $0.10 per gallon for gas. Observing the speed limit is also safer.
- Proper tire inflation and wheel alignment helps decrease road resistance and may increase mileage. Check tire pressure monthly and rotate tires using your vehicle's specific maintenance schedule.
- A well-maintained vehicle may improve overall performance and may use fuel more efficiently.
- Use your air conditioning wisely. With the air on, your engine uses more fuel.
- Drive less by planning ahead. Try to do all your errands in one trip and plan the most efficient route.
- Don't vent your anger behind the wheel. Aggressive acceleration wastes gas and can be dangerous as well.
- Use cruise control. Using cruise control on the highway helps you maintain a constant speed and, in most cases, will save gas.
- Shift properly. If you have a manual transmission, shifting into high gear as soon as possible without straining the engine helps reduce drag and may use less fuel.
